One imported company record combined a chimney-related source with an unrelated electronics website. The public profile was removed from the Hub, its sitemap and the shared satellite API pending identity reconciliation. The underlying source record was retained for correction rather than silently rewritten as a verified business.
September 24, 2026 — clearer limits on price estimates
The editorial policy now distinguishes published consumer estimates and editorial local adjustments from an original local contractor survey. No such price survey has been conducted by this publication. The change prevents readers from treating planning ranges as measured local market rates.

The site now identifies its organizational editorial byline, explains AI assistance and publishes a page-level review register. Source-based content is not presented as independently reviewed by an unnamed chimney professional.
September 24, 2026 — unsupported source attribution removed
An Oregon Department of Justice chimney-scam alert citation could not be corroborated. We removed the alert attribution from hiring, certification and scam guides. We also replaced moved CDC and Minnesota health references. Link availability checks are not a substitute for a full factual review.
How corrections differ from refreshes
New images, interface changes and routine data refreshes do not mean every factual statement has been reviewed. Material corrections change a claim, its interpretation or a published record. We record those separately from ordinary maintenance.
