Our role
We organize source-based chimney information for homeowners: what a service includes, what questions to ask, how to interpret a directory record and which documents to keep. We publish educational material and operate a directory. We do not perform chimney inspections, issue safety certificates or certify contractors.
What the byline means
“Chimney Sweeps Hub editorial” identifies the publication responsible for the content. It is not the name of an individual chimney technician or a claim that a certified inspector wrote the page. No named independent technical reviewer is currently attached to the guide library. We do not display invented staff biographies, credentials, hands-on testing or professional endorsements.
How the material is produced
AI tools assist with research organization, drafting, editing, software and illustrative photography. We link sources so readers can inspect the basis for important statements. AI assistance and a citation do not establish that a claim is correct; current requirements and property-specific decisions still need direct confirmation. Existing guides may include secondary consumer references as well as primary sources.
What we can document ourselves
The Evidence Observatory calculates statistics directly from our published directory records. The local housing modules join official Census geography and estimate files using a reproducible importer. We publish the calculation method, geographic limitations, source vintage and uncertainty. These are data analyses, not field inspections or contractor surveys.
Professional contributions
A technical reviewer must be an identifiable person with relevant, verifiable qualifications, a stated review scope and disclosed commercial interests. When such a review is completed, the reviewed page will identify the reviewer and date. We will not apply an expert badge to the entire library because a person reviewed a different article.
Professionals interested in contributing can contact email@chimneysweepshub.com with a credential reference, topic, conflicts of interest and examples of work they have permission to share. Submitting information does not purchase directory placement.
Accountability
Read the editorial policy, review register, corrections record and network disclosure. If a claim is inaccurate, send the page URL, the specific statement and the supporting source. Avoid sending private homeowner reports without permission.
